Deadline for the arrival of applications and compositions: 20th October 2007;
Jury reunions: November 2007

Age limit: for the category A, B, C, E, composers from every country who were born after 31st December 1966;
for the category D juniores, composers from every country born after 31st December 1977;
for the category F, without age limit.


6 categories: Electronic instruments are not allowed. All the copies (10) will be written only on paper size A4 (cm 21x29,7)

- Category A) composition for voices and/or soloist instruments and orchestra.
Solo instruments: recorder, piccolo, flute, oboe, english horn, clarinet, bassoon, double bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, bass-tuba, saxophone. No more than 64 pages format A4. Minimum length 10'. Maximum length 20'.

- Category B) Chamber music composition.
 The choice of the instruments is free, from a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 12. No more than 50 pages. Length: between 10' and 16'

- Category C) Composition for solo voice or solo instrument: recorder, piccolo, flute, oboe, english horn, clarinet, bassoon, double bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, bass-tuba, saxophone.
No more than 14 pages format A4. Length: between 6' and 10'.

- Category D juniores). Composition for 2 instruments, chosen among recorder, piccolo, flute, oboe, english horn, clarinet, bassoon, double bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, bass-tuba, saxophone. No more than 20 pages format A4. Length: between 6' and 20'

- Category E) Composition for chorus of treble voices "a cappella" or for chorus and instruments (maximum 6).
No more than 40 pages format A4. Length: between 7' and 14'

- Category F) "What I would like to compose" (ad libitum). No more than 52 pages format A4.
Length: between 10' and 18'.

Entrance fee: (at the participant's own expense): the amount of the fee: euro 100,00 net for the categories A, B, C, E, F and Euro 80,00 net for the category D juniores, payed directly on Post Office Account n.35177005 made out to Fondazione Valentino Bucchi, via Ubaldino Peruzzi 20, 00139 Roma, or through national or international postal money order (at once own expense), made out to Fondazione Valentino Bucchi, via Ubaldino  Peruzzi 20, 00139 Roma. Only in extraordinary cases, bank or postal cheques will be accepted. In this case the amount of the fee is euro 125 net. The fee is in no case refundable.

Prizes: the first prize and the publication for each category for each category (6 categories) + publication for the first prize of each category.
Category A: 1° Euro 3,500.00 + publication;
Category B: 1° Euro 2,700.00 + publication;
Category C: 1° Euro 1,800.00 + publication;
Category D juniores: 1° Euro 1,500.00 + publication;
Category E: 1° Euro 2,500.00 + publication;

PIANO FOR CHILDHOOD (Music, Nature, Games and Fairy Tales)

Limiti di età: per le categorie A, B, C, E, compositori di ogni Paese nati dopo il 31 dicembre 1966;
per la categoria D juniores, compositori di ogni Paese nati dopo il 31 dicembre 1977;
per la categoria F, compositori di ogni Paese, senza limiti di età.

6 categorie: Gli strumenti elettronici non sono ammessi. Tutte le copie (10) dovranno essere scritte solo su carta formato A4 (cm 21x29,7)

- Categoria A) Composizione per voci (coro) e/o strumenti solisti e orchestra.
Strumenti solisti: flauto dolce, ottavino, flauto traverso, oboe, corno inglese, clarinetto, fagotto, controfagotto, corno, tromba, trombone, basso tuba, sassofono. Non più di 64 pagine formato A4. Durata minima: 10'. Durata Massima 20'.

- Categoria B) Composizione per musica da camera.
La scelta degli strumenti è libera, da un minimo di 3 a un massimo di 12. Non più di 50 pagine. Durata: tra 10' e 16'.

- Categoria C) Composizione per voce sola o strumento solo.
Strumenti solisti: flauto dolce, ottavino, flauto traverso, oboe, corno inglese, clarinetto, fagotto, controfagotto, corno, tromba, trombone, basso tuba, sassofono. Non più di 14 pagine formato A4. Durata: tra 6' e 10'.

- Categoria D juniores) Composizione per 2 strumenti.
Strumenti: flauto dolce, ottavino, flauto traverso, oboe, corno inglese, clarinetto, fagotto, controfagotto, corno, tromba, trombone, basso tuba, sassofono. Non più di 20 pagine formato A4. Durata: tra 6' e 12'.

- Categoria E) Composizione per coro di voci bianche a cappella o con strumenti (massimo 6).
Non più di 40 pagine formato A4. Durata: tra 7' e 14'.

- Categoria F) "Quello che vorrei comporre" (ad libitum ad esclusione degli strumenti elettronici).
Non più di 52 pagine formato A4. Durata: tra  10' e 18'.

Tassa di iscrizione (con tutte le spese a carico del concorrente): Euro 100,00 netti, per le categorie A, B, C, E, F e di Euro 80,00 netti  per la categoria D juniores, effettuato sul conto corrente postale n. 35177005 intestato a: Fondazione Valentino Bucchi, Via Ubaldino Peruzzi, 20, 00139 Roma, oppure tramite vaglia postale nazionale o internazionale, intestato a: Fondazione Valentino Bucchi, Via U.
